Дональд Трамп-младший о Брекзите

Английская Telegraph опубликовала статью одного из руководителей «Организации» Трампа и сына нынешнего Президента США, Дональда (Дона) Трампа-младшего (можете попробовать этот линк для доступа в обход paywall’а).

Статья называется прямо и недвусмысленно: “Theresa May should have taken my father’s advice on Brexit”.

В чем именно состоял «совет» Трампа, из статьи понять решительно невозможно. Сказано лишь, что

… Mrs May ignored advice from my father, and ultimately, a process that should have taken only a few short months has become a years-long stalemate, leaving the British people in limbo.

Каким образом процесс выхода из ЕС, который никак не может занять меньше 2-х лет с момента инициации процедуры выхода, мог уложиться в «несколько месяцев»? Автор не считает нужным это как-то пояснять.

Основной посыл статьи, впрочем, достаточно прозрачен. И Брекзит, и победа Трампа есть восстание «народа» против «элит». Попытки же, с одной стороны Атлантики, отменить, отложить или размыть Брекзит, и с другой, расследовать Трампа, есть желание «элит» вернуть себе утерянную власть. Всё.

Я нисколько не преувеличиваю и не пародирую. Ровно это там и сказано, буквально такими словами:

In a way, you could say that Brexit and my father’s election are one and the same – the people of both the UK and the US voted to uproot the establishment for the sake of individual freedom and independence, only to see the establishment try to silence their voices and overturn their mandates.

Впрочем, между Британией и США есть разница. Если США возглавляет такой великий человек, то с английским премьером не все ясно:

Some pro-Brexit politicians even suggest that Mrs May herself is trying to sabotage Brexit, by insisting that Parliament agree to a deal that essentially keeps Britain bound to the EU indefinitely.

Всё, нет больше в UK демократии. Была, да вся вышла.

With Brexit in the balance, and the 2020 presidential elections just around the corner, the people of both the UK and the US must reaffirm the decisions they made in 2016 to stand up for themselves against the global elite.

У меня вопрос, как бы мне внести посильное пожертвование этим самым «глобальным элитам», чтобы они всё же победили? А то по сравнению с этой публикой они выглядят все симпатичнее и симпатичнее.

Есть какие-то сомнения, что он советовал построить стену между двумя Ирландиями?

– Я знаю, как надо решать проблемы с границей!

Разве что так, а то у меня есть сомнения, что Трамп хоть что-то знает о Северной Ирландии.
